Coming from a humble middle class family, Leona Fernandes was raised with strong values and ethics. As the eldest of three, with a younger brother and a sister, responsibility came early. She actively supported her mother in managing her small business. From her came resilience, entrepreneurship and multi tasking. Her father, a banker by profession inspired her with his discipline and goal oriented mindset. He taught her the value of financial literacy and strategic planning. Balancing academics and family duties shaped her time management skills. Her upbringing instilled her with strong work ethic and empathy for others.
A banker by profession with over 13 years of experience in the financial sector, the journey of Leona Fernandes in banking has been marked by dedication, growth and deep client relationships.
However she felt a creative spark calling her towards something more expressive.
Married to the love of her fife, her college best friend and mother of two wonderful children, her family keeps her grounded and inspired.
In 2024 she decided to follow her passion and enrolled in Mrs World International pagent. She was honoured to be selected as one of the finalists – a milestone that changed her perspective. This experience reignited her love for fashion, confidence and self expression. She has since walked the runway for two talented fashion designers.
Fashion gave her a platform to share her story and break stereotypes. It proved that transformation is possible at any stage of life. She will now be walking in the prestigious Ahmedabad Fashion Week. She believes every woman can redefine herself beyond roles and titles. Her journey is about choosing courage over comfort. It’s also about showing her kids that dreams don’t have an expiry date. She now embraces both Banker and Dreamer within her.
This is just the beginning of a more authentic and inspired chapter in her life.
