MUMBAI, 11 AUGUST, 2025: In a touching act of kindness, noted social worker Dr. Anil Kashi Murarka gifted a brand-new auto rickshaw to a woman driver, Sarika Mestri, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
A few days ago, while travelling in an auto, Dr. Murarka noticed that it was being driven by a woman. Out of curiosity, he asked her story. Sarika revealed that her husband had been unwell for several months, making it difficult to manage household expenses. To support her family, she had taken up driving an auto rickshaw.
Moved by her struggle, Dr. Murarka took her contact number. On Raksha Bandhan, instead of the usual gifts, he visited Sarika, got a rakhi tied by her, and presented her with a brand-new auto rickshaw.
“This brother will always stand by you,” Dr. Murarka assured, calling Sarika his sister from that day forward. His gesture, he said, was not just about helping one person but also about upholding the values of humanity and inspiring society.
